Home Who Benefits
The YMCA is a human service organization dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual, especially the disadvantaged and underserved, through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body. The Harford YMCA is not a traditional swim-and-gym facility. Instead, the Harford “Y” provides childcare services to preschoolers and school-aged children. It also provides youth programs, including after-school sports, teen leadership activities, family counseling, Indian Guides, traditional outdoor day camps and sports camps.

With its central location, its role as the county seat and its small town charm, Bel Air always has been and remains “The Heart of Harford.” To enhance and preserve the town’s appearance, traditions, community identity and economic stability, business owners and interested citizens have joined hands in the Bel Air Downtown Revitalization Alliance, a nonprofit volunteer organization. Through ambitious and wide-reaching efforts, the Alliance is creating a vibrant business community and visitor friendly destination in Downtown Bel Air.

The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation (MAEF) is a nonprofit organization founded to increase awareness and appreciation of the relationship of agriculture and the environment, and the critical role of the food and fiber system in our society. Its best known initiative is the Maryland Ag in the Classroom program, whereby mobile laboratories travel the State providing elementary school children with hands-on exercises in agricultural production, processing, biotechnology, aquaculture and agrisciences. MAEF also travels the state providing in-service training for teachers as well as agricultural education to public audiences. The organization recently completed construction of it’s new headquarters, the Senator William H. Amoss Agricultural Education Center, located at Swan Harbor Farm in Havre de Grace.
